The list includes an orca, a treasure chest and a trombone.

The Unicode Consortium, an organisation that develops emoji for computers and smartphones, has unveiled eight new images. Among them are a bigfoot, an orca, and a bloated face.

Other new emoji include a cloud of dust during a fight, an apple slicer, a trombone, a landslide and a treasure chest. They’ve also approved other variants for existing ones – for example, a dark-skinned ballerina will appear.

All these are still just mock-ups, which will be finally approved only in September 2025. After that, it will take time for giant companies like Apple, Google and Microsoft to create their own versions of these emoji. This may not happen until 2026.
