The Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced plans to build the world’s largest spokeless ferris wheel. It will be called the Seoul Ring and will be located in Haneul Park.

The park was chosen because of the beautiful view, accessibility and proximity to the tourist infrastructure. And the wheel will also be a symbol of the unification of Korea, since the park area is geographically close to North Korea.

The cutting-edge spokeless design was a complex engineering decision, and the city consulted with both local and international experts to ensure construction was as safe and sustainable as possible. The Seoul Ring will also function as a cultural complex, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about the history of Seoul’s Nanjido Mushroom and Orchid Island. Formerly a garbage dump covering thirty-four times the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the island has now been turned into a nature reserve with five different theme parks.

The Seoul ring is planned to be completed by 2025. However, the scale of the building can already be estimated from the layouts.
